ORANGE, Texas — A woman was injured when she was run over by her own car in a parking lot in Orange Monday morning.
A witness tells 12News that the woman parked her car and got out and when she realized the car was still in gear she tried to get back into the car.
She fell underneath the car and was dragged and pinned beneath the car witnesses told 12News.
Firefighters were able to extricate the woman from beneath the car.
The woman was transported to the hospital by medical helicopter following the accident that happened along Highway 87 near Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School just before 9 a.m. Monday morning.
The roadway was closed for just under an hour due to the incident.
