What to do this Easter: Here's a list of egg hunts in Southeast Texas, places to eat this holiday weekend

BEAUMONT, Texas — If you’re on the hunt for eggs this weekend, or need to find a place to eat during the holiday weekend, here’s a list.

Egg Hunts:

Gator Country’s Easter Egg Hunt

Date: April 20
Time: First hunt is at 11 a.m., second hunt starts at 3 p.m.
Address: 21159 FM 365 in Beaumont

Tickets start at $13.

Beaumont's First Baptist Church Community Egg Hunt

Date: April 20
Time: 11 a.m.
Address: Rogers Park, 1455 Dowlen Road in Beaumont

Beaumont's First Baptist Church is having their tenth annual community Easter egg hunt with 25,000 eggs hand-filled by volunteers. The event usually draws about 1,000 people, so come early to park and bring your own basket. There's also a "Special Blessings" field for children with disabilities and sensory disorders. The church is also holding a bike giveaway raffle for 16 bicycles.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church Easter Egg Hunt

Date & Time: April 20, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Address: 680 Calder Avenue in Beaumont

Hunt eggs, enjoy lunch in the garden, and take a picture with the Easter Bunny!

Central Park Easter Egg Hunt 

Date & Time: April 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Address: 640 S 4th Street in Beaumont, at the Imagination Station

Crafts, egg hunts, race, food, dance contests, bike and toy giveaway, face painting and more!

John Jay French Museum Egg Hunt

Date & Time: April 20, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Address: 3025 French Road in Beaumont 

Tickets are $5 for kids 4 years old and up and free for children under 4. The Easter Bunny will also be on site for pictures.

The Heritage Happy Hour Adult Easter Egg Hunt is April 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It's free for or Beaumont Heritage Society Members and $10 for non-members for 21 and up. 

Turning Point Church Egg Hunt

Date & Time: April 20, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Address: 3600 North Main Street in Vidor

The event is free to the public. Organizers are planning to have inflatables, a petting zoo, and food.

Salvation Army Women’s Ministry Egg Hunt

Date & Time: April 19, 10 a.m.
Address: Rose Hill Park, 200 Woodworth Blvd in Port Arthur

This is the Salvation Army Women’s Ministry in Port Arthur’s first annual egg hunt. There will be food, door prizes and they’re giving away 18 Easter baskets.

Restaurants that will be open Easter Sunday:

If you’re looking for a place to eat after Easter Sunday service or Easter Mass, some restaurants will be open Easter Sunday.

  • IHOP
  • Panera Bread
  • Chili’s
  • Longhorn Steakhouse
  • Olive Garden

Many other places are probably open for regular business hours, but you may want to call ahead.
