Troopers are investigating what a witness tells 12News is a fatal auto-pedestrian accident in Liberty County.

Troopers with the Department of Public Safety responded to the incident, which happened on U.S. 90 near County Road 106, about 3:15 p.m.

Eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down west of FM1009 because of the incident according to TxDot.

At approximately 3:15p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on US 90 in Liberty County.

The crash occurred near CR 106 which is just East of Devers, Texas.

Troopers and other emergency personnel are on the scene; however, details are extremely limited. Injuries have been reported, but the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area and stay alert for emergency vehicles. Expect delays.

This crash investigation is in its early stages and additional details will be released as information is confirmed.
