SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, Texas — Friends and family are remembering a Silsbee man who drowned on Lake Sam Rayburn Thursday afternoon.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden Doug Williams told 12News it happened during a storm April 18.

Drew Galloway, 58, was on the south side of the lake with his 24-year-old stepson. Their boat capsized and started taking on water, Williams said.

Investigators said they both stayed on the boat as long as they could. The stepson survived.

Relatives have started posting remembrances of Galloway on social media.

I hate to hear about the passing of Uncle Drew Galloway. Aunt Vicki Galloway, Dustin Arrant, Drake and Desiree I'm sorry for the lost. Uncle Drew was a great man he was full of laughter, he loved to...

They describe him as a man full of laughter, who loved to fish and hunt.
