SCHOOLS | Snow causes delays, closures in some Southeast Texas districts

School districts around Southeast Texas have begun to make announcements that they are either starting school later or closing completely due to a blanket of snow that dropped overnight.

School districts around Southeast Texas have begun to make announcements that they are either starting school later or closing completely due to a blanket of snow that dropped overnight.

We will update this list as we receive official confirmed notices from each district.

Districts officials can email 12News@NewsNow.com from their district domain email address to notify us of any delay or closure in their district.

DELAYED SCHOOL START TIMES...

  • Anahuac ISD
    • Schools start @ 10 a.m.
  • Bridge City ISD
    • Schools start @ 10 a.m.
    • Faculty report @ 9:30 a.m.
  • Colmesneil ISD
    • Schools start @ 9 a.m.
    • Busses run @ 7 a.m.
  • East Chambers ISD
    • Schools start TWO hours late.
    • Buses run TWO hours later than their regular time
    • Classes start @10 a.m.
  • Hanshire-Fannett ISD
    • Schools start @ 10 a.m.
  • High Island ISD
    • Schools start @ 10 a.m.
  • Orangefield ISD
    • Schools start @ 10 a.m.
    • Buses will begin running routes @ 8 a.m.
    • Teachers report @ 9 a.m.
  • Port Neches-Groves ISD
    • Schools start ONE hour late
  • Sabine Pass ISD
    • Schools start @ 9 a.m.
    • Buses will pick up under the bridge @ 8:45 a.m.
  • St. Mary Catholic School - Orange
    • School starts @ 9 a.m.
  • Vidor ISD
    • Schools start TWO hours late

    • Campuses & offices CLOSED
  • Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies - Orange
    • Teachers should still report @ 9 a.m.
    • Port Arthur campus is OPEN

    • School canceled for students, staff
