Motorcycle rider dies following Beaumont accident

The victim has been identified as Patrick Carter, a 61 year old Beaumont man.

Patrick Carter, a 61 year old Beaumont man, died at the hospital following an accident around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident happened on the feeder road of Interstate 10 in front of the Scottish Inns & Suites. The victim was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth where he was pronounced deceased.

A Beaumont Police spokesperson said the motorcyclist was on the northbound service road when he struck the curb and lost control of his motorcycle.

Beaumont Police Traffic Investigators will close the IH-10 northbound Calder Road exit and the IH10-northbound service road from Rusk to Laurel today beginning at 1:30 p.m. for around 2 hours so that investigators can investigate the accident site. A police spokesperson said this will cover the northbound service road from the Scottish Inns & Suites to the McDonald’s at Laurel & IH-10.
