Man has arm amputated in industrial accident in Pinehurst Friday morning

A medical helicopter landed at about 10:50 a.m. to transport the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston.

PINEHURST — A 55-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Houston by medical helicopter after having an arm amputated in an industrial accident in Pinehurst.

It happened around 10 a.m. Friday at a machine shop in the 1900 block of Strickland Drive.

Pinehurst police Chief Fred Hanauer III told 12News the man was servicing a piece of equipment when the accident happened.

He was flown by Acadian Air Med to Herman Hospital in Houston.

Chief Hanauer said the man’s condition is unknown.

The Pinehurst Police Department, Pinehurst Fire and Rescue and Acadian Ambulance Service worked the incident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident.
