BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Beaumont woman who was shot Saturday night in Beaumont's South End.
Pamela Thibodeaux, 37, died in the hospital Sunday night after being shot in the 1300 block of Church Street around 9 p.m. Saturday night.
Dion Lenoire, 36, of Beaumont, was arrested at 6:30 on Monday evening, in connection with the investigation according to a Beaumont Police news release.
Lenoire is charged with aggravated assault, which will be updated to a murder charge since Thibodeaux's death the release said.
Officers were called to a south end home and received information that Lenoire was in a house at the corner of Fletcher and Virgil Street according to the release. Police confirmed with the home owner that Lenoire was inside and surrounded the home according to the release. Police called Lenoire out with a loud speaker and took him into custody according to the release.
This case marks the sixth homicide of 2019 in Beaumont.
