SILSBEE — Four Hardin County fire departments rushed to a house fire Wednesday afternoon as flames began shooting from the roof of the home around lunch time.

The fire was reported at 12:30 p.m. at a house on Circle C Drive off of Biscamp Road. A Silsbee firefighter told dispatch the house was fully involved in flames and mutual aid was called from fire departments in Kountze, Evadale and Lumberton.

The Silsbee police department assisted with traffic control while firefighters worked the blaze. An Acadian Ambulance crew was also put on standby. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire.

Marissa Shipman has been the caretaker of 84 year old Mary Phillips for 6 months. If she would’ve left earlier Ms. Phillips would have been all alone when a fire broke out.

"I was just grateful I was able to help and that I was here, because if I had been gone I don't think it would've played out the way that it did," Shipman said.

Shipman believes thirty minutes made a big difference, staying with Ms. Phillips a little longer could have possibly saved her life.

"It's very sad, she was a very hard working women, her and her husband. This is what they worked for all there life, so to see her lose everything was pretty rough," Shipman said.

A gofundme page has been set up to help Ms. Phillips who lost everything in the fire and can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/hmu4t0
