Family mourns loss of Mauriceville man killed in auto-pedestrian accident

The stepmother and father of 20-year-old Joshua Teague are heartbroken after finding out Teague was killed along Highway 62 in Orange County early Tuesday morning.

MAURICEVILLE — Texas DPS troopers say Joshua Teague was hit and killed by a truck that was traveling southbound on Highway 62 early Tuesday morning.

“I’ve cried, but I feel like I haven’t cried enough, like, it’s not all out,” Rachelle Teague, Joshua’s stepmother said.

Rachelle and her husband Quincy are still distraught over the death of the Orangefield High School graduate.

"Loving, loving young man, he made you laugh, he had a heart of gold," Teague said.

Teague’s family says Joshua loved video games, art, and music.

"He wanted to go to school to do computer stuff, to design games and be able to test games," Quincy Teague said.

His parents are not sure why Joshua was walking on the highway around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

Troopers say he was walking northbound in the southbound lane when he was hit.

"He was involved with a church, and I'm sure they led him down to the right path to where we're going to see him again," Teague said.

Teague’s funeral will take place at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Monday.
