On Wednesday, 12 News went to a classic spot that's been around for more than 20 years, Vautrot's in Bevil Oaks has been serving up a family recipe that nobody outside of the bloodline will every learn. They were our third stop on Daybreak this week.

On day two of Gumbo Week and we took a trip to Lumberton to the recently opened Tia Juanita's Fish Camp. This is one the more spicier gumbos, mainly because of the amber roux and black pepper mixture.

Our first stop was Floyd's Cajun Seafood and Texas Steakhouse. They are one of the staples in Southeast Texas when it comes to gumbo, specifically their chicken and sausage blend that the sell to go non stop, every single day.

We will feature a different restaurant every morning, and on Wednesday we'll head out to a special spot along Pine Island Bayou that received the second most votes on our poll.

On Thursday we will reveal the final two places and give viewers 24 hours to vote so we can officially crown one place as the Best Gumbo in Southeast Texas.
