Huntsman Port Neches Operations hosted a town hall meeting with US Congressman Randy Weber this week.
Weber toured the plant the afternoon of Tuesday, August 21 and met with Huntsman executives to discuss plant operations and the company's environmental initiatives, according to a news release.
"It doesn't get any better than this, a good corporate neighbor right here," Weber said.
"You heard me talk about Southeast Texas—the chemical industry, the manufacturing industry, the refining industry, the ports, the Sabine-Neches waterway—we are the hub of economic energy, activity here in Texas."
Huntsman's Port Neches Operations is one of the company's largest manufacturing facilities with over 600 full time employees.
In 2016, the plant became the largest single-site producer of ethylene oxide (EO) in North America.
