13-year-old shot after suspects fire upon home in Beaumont's North End Friday night

Several suspects fired shots near and around the residence, investigators found. At least one round entered the residence and struck a 13-year-old inside the house.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are investigating after a shooting in the city's North End on Friday night. 

Officers responded to the shooting in the 1800 block of Rivercrest Street not far from Collier's Ferry Park at 11:14 p.m. Friday, March 29. 

The 13-year-old's injuries are not believed to be life threatening, a Beaumont Police spokesperson said. The teenager was taken to a local hospital and then a hospital in Houston for treatment. 

Multiple people were in the area when the shooting happened she said. The investigation is ongoing.
