COVID-19 antibody testing site coming to Beaumont

'For the antibody test, we emphasize that positive results are meaningful. It means that you have had the virus and your body has mounted an immune response'

BEAUMONT, Texas — A wellness company says it will be opening drive-thru COVID-19 'antibody testing' sites at Post Acute Medical (PAM) hospitals, including one in Beaumont.

Cura Telehealth will be offering the testing at 3340 Plaza 10 Blvd. at the PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Beaumont parking lot.

'Cura’s FDA-authorized test involves a small blood collection to detect the immune response to the virus with antibody testing,' according to a Cura news release.

A spokesperson declined to tell 12News what time they'll be opening.

Those who wish to have the test will need to visit cura.com and follow the instructions before showing up. You can also call 888-910-CURA to get more information.

Clint Baird is the CEO of Cura.

“We are offering rapid antibody testing. For the antibody test, we emphasize that positive results are meaningful. It means that you have had the virus and your body has mounted an immune response. It doesn’t mean that you’re necessarily free of the virus yet. It doesn’t mean that you couldn’t potentially spread it to someone else. Please continue to practice government issued guidelines for social distancing and hygiene and be safe," Baird said in the release.
