BEAUMONT, Texas — The Beaumont Heritage Society's fifth annual Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 20th 2019 on the grounds of the historic John Jay French Museum. The museum is located at 3025 French Road in Beaumont. Gates open at 1:00 p.m., followed by the hunt at 1:45 p.m.
Assistant Director of the Beaumont Heritage Society Shelby Drydan said parents are encouraged to bring their cameras and take photos with the Easter bunny. Kids will have the opportunity to make a craft, tour the first floor of the French home and enjoy the hunt with four separate areas dived by age group.
Tickets are five dollars per person ages four and up, kids under the age of four get in free. All proceeds benefit the John Jay French Museum. Drydan said their mission is "to foster a connection to Beaumont's history and inspire others to value preservation and heritage for the benefit of the community."
After the kids have had their fun Saturday, the Beaumont Heritage Society is putting on their first ever heritage happy hour adult Easter egg hunt Thursday, April 25th 2019. The adult hunt will also be held at the John Jay French Museum from 5:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m..
Drydan said adults 21 and up are welcome to come enjoy craft beer showcased by Giglio Distributing Company, as well as wine and non-alcoholic beverages. There will also be a hunt for treats and prize filled eggs on the historic grounds of the museum.
Beaumont Heritage Society members can enjoy the happy hour hunt for free, and the cost is $10 for non members 21 and up. Drydan said Heritage Happy Hour is an on-going partnership with Giglio Distributing Co. Each event highlights a historical exhibit, time, or landmark, and a craft beer or brewery. They're typically held every other month.
Their belief is, "by promoting and sharing our local history and its historical significance in a fun and social way, we can also share and promote the efforts to preserve Beaumont’s historical landscape."
