When choosing a home surveillance camera police suggest higher quality systems for best results

Law enforcement officials say that security cameras with more mega pixels are commonly more expensive, but enable them to zoom in on a suspect's face.

BEAUMONT — Orange Police are still looking for a suspect who was caught on surveillance video stealing a package from the porch of a home in the Roselawn neighborhood Friday.

As more and more residents invest in surveillance cameras police suggest that they purchase as high quality of a camera system as they can afford.

Video from the higher quality cameras can often make it easier for police to identify thieves.

Law enforcement officials say that security cameras with more mega pixels are commonly more expensive, but enable them to zoom in on a suspect's face.

"Some cameras are better than others, but we appreciate any video evidence we can get," said Beaumont Police Officer Haley Morrow.

If you can identify the thief in the video contact the Orange Police Department at 409- 883-1095.
