Beaumont — A man is behind bars after a sow-speed car chase ends with his arrest in Beaumont on Friday morning.
Darrell Bowie was spotted by Beaumont police driving a stolen car near Milam St and Orange Ave around 10 a.m.
Bowie stole the car off of Hazel Ave after the owner left the keys in the car.
The chase was slow-speed at its end because the suspected car thief ran out of gas. Once the car came to a stop, he jumped out at Avenue F, and was arrested after a short foot race.
Bowie is charged with evading-resisting arrest, and wreckless driving, after just being released from prison two weeks ago on an auto theft conviction.
