Police say Brown got out of his vehicle, looked at the victim lying in the roadway, got back in his vehicle and drove away.

PORT ARTHUR — A man police say fled the scene after he struck and killed a pedestrian has been indicted on one count of second-degree accident causing injury or death.

According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Blake Devon Brown, 35, of Port Arthur, was driving in the 300 block of H.O. Mills around 9 p.m. on May 26. The affidavit says he was going at a high rate of speed when he struck Marvin Levine who was walking along the roadway.

Police say Brown got out of his vehicle, looked at the victim lying in the roadway, got back in his vehicle and drove away. They said he did not call 911 to call for help.

If convicted, Brown faces from 2 to twenty years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
