LA MARQUE — The 14-year-old boy accused of strangling and stabbing his pregnant mother has now been charged with capital murder, the Galveston County District Attorney's Office confirmed.
Nita Moseley, 33, was found dead on Sept. 26 at her home in the 2800 block of Fannin in La Marque. She had been stabbed more than 20 times.
Police later arrested her son in Houston and said he confessed.
The district attorney's office hasn't decided whether to certify him as an adult.
The boy, whose name has not being released because he is a juvenile, is still in custody in the juvenile facility.
His mother was four to five months pregnant, according to relatives.
The motive in her killing is still unclear, authorities said.
