La Marque PD: Teen son confesses to stabbing mom over 20 times

The La Marque Police Department says a 14-year-old boy accused of murder has confessed to stabbing his mom more than 20 times.
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with stabbing his mother more than 20 times. Nita Moseley, 33, was pregnant.

LA MARQUE, Texas - The La Marque Police Department says a 14-year-old boy accused of murder has confessed to stabbing his mom more than 20 times.

Nita Moseley, 33, was found dead in her home last weekend with wounds to her back and neck. Investigators also say she was strangled.

According to police, the initial investigation showed that Moseley was the mother to a teen son who was unaccounted for and his whereabouts unknown. Also missing from the home was a car that had been loaned to Nita.

The following day, the son and the missing car were located in Houston. The vehicle was recovered as evidence, and the son was taken to the La Marque Police Department. By this time in the investigation, the son was a person of interest, based on evidence from the crime scene.

The son was interviewed and was reportedly cooperative in the interview, which led to a murder charge against him.

An autopsy confirmed that his mom was pregnant. Information from family indicates she was four to five months pregnant.

The motive for the murder is still under investigation at this time.

"The son did provide a voluntary statement in which he confessed to causing the death of his mother," the police department stated.

"This is still a very active investigation at the La Marque Police Department. Information has been obtained that after Nita Moseley's murder, the son left the La Marque / Houston area and traveled to Seguin Texas. He then traveled back to the Houston area where he stayed till being taken into custody by investigators."

The La Marque Police is asking that anyone who came into contact with Nita Moseley's son make contact with the La Marque Police Department or the La Marque Crime Stoppers at 409-938-9269 and 409-938-8477.
