Jefferson County detective cracks gun-theft case

Daigle is held on $250,000 bond on a burglary charge. Ford was arrested on an outstanding warrant with additional charges pending.

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two men deputies say burglarized a home in the 11000 block of West Clubb Road on Monday have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of guns and other property.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Warhola pieced together evidence and developed information about the two suspects. He determined that the pair was in a Green Chevy truck and one of them had a court hearing in Chamber’s county.

Detective Warhola and a DPS investigator went to the Chambers County courthouse where Kelby Daigle, 27, of Hamshire, one of the suspects, was set to appear before a judge. They found Tommy Ford, 25, of Winnie, the other suspect, hiding in a truck in the parking lot waiting on Daigle. Both men were taken into custody.

Investigators say they searched the truck in which Ford was hiding and found one of the stolen guns. They say they found more of the stolen property when they searched the suspect’s home.

Daigle is held on $250,000 bond on a burglary charge. Ford was arrested on an outstanding warrant with additional charges pending.
