BEAUMONT, Texas — A 19-year-old former Lamar Institute of Technology student was indicted this week on charges of having a gun and marijuana in his dorm. 

Seth Jordan Davis was indicted for possession of a weapon in a prohibited place according to court documents.

An officer received an anonymous tip that a student had a gun. Davis was allegedly found at Gentry Hall at Lamar University where investigators say they found a firearm and marijuana according to the court documents. 

He was arrested for a third-degree felony charge and is also charged with tampering with ID numbers according to the court documents.
