BEAUMONT — A 19-year-old Beaumont man was fatally shot late Thursday night at a south Beaumont apartment complex.
Gariyon Coleman, of Beaumont, died after being shot in a drive-by shooting 12News was told by his aunt, Taecia Jones.
Beaumont Police officers responded to the scene at about 10:10 p.m. at the Sunlight Manor Apartments on South 8th Street in Beaumont's South End and found Coleman suffering from gunshot wound according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.
Officers and Beaumont EMS medics attempted to aid Coleman but he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics according to the release.
Jones took to social media about an hour after the shooting and implored anyone with information on her nephew's death to come forward.
She also mentioned having a premonition nine days ago about "something bad" happening.
Jones also told 12News that Coleman was a 2017 graduate of Beaumont's Central High School he loved his siblings and football.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating the shooting.
Detectives are seeking possible witnesses to the shooting and request that anyone who may have been in the area of the apartment complex between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday and witnessed "anything out of the ordinary" to call them at 409-832-1234 the release said.

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 10:09 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to 2950 S. 8th St (Sunlight Manor), in reference to shots fired.
When Officers arrived on scene, they located a gun shot victim and attempted to render aid, however, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later by Beaumont EMS.
The victim is identified as Gariyon Coleman, a 19 year old Beaumont resident.
Detectives are seeking information from possible witnesses to this homicide.
