LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- John Schnatter has hired a high-profile attorney and plans to fight Papa John’s, the company he founded.

According to the Courier-Journal, Schnatter has hired L.A. Attorney Patricia Glaser who has represented clients like Harvey Weinstein.

Schnatter resigned as the chairman of Papa John's last week after using a racial slur during a conference call. Now, he regrets his decision.

In a letter he sent to the board, Schnatter said, "The board asked me to step down as chairman without apparently doing any investigation. I agreed, though today I believe it was a mistake to do so."

Schnatter and his attorney are asking the board to form a special committee to review the facts surrounding the incident.
