Port Neches girl spreading joy one coffee cup at a time with 'Sleeves of Encouragement'

Ayvah came up with the idea to put uplifting messages on coffee cup sleeves, and she's the reason for hundreds of smiles

NEDERLAND, Texas — A Port Neches girl just wants to spread a little happiness and inspiration in the world and she's using Starbucks to do it.

Ayvah Doyle is 9 years old, and she's the source of a lot of smiles.

Doyle came up with the idea for 'Sleeves of Encouragement' months ago.

Her idea was to put inspiring messages on coffee cup sleeves.

"Everybody loves Starbucks, so every time you get coffee or a drink from Starbucks you'll have an encouraging note to go with it," Doyle said.

With a little help from this Starbucks on Highway 365 in Nederland and a few friends, she was able to slip on more than 1,300 of the sleeves onto drinks.

"Starbucks, I've been a huge fan since I was little and I just love making people happy," Doyle said.

Some of the uplifting notes say, "You're so encouraging" and "Believe in yourself."

"Oh my gosh. You never think that you can produce something that can do something this huge and share that many smiles with people," Kaycee Doyle, Ayvah's mom said.

She couldn't be more proud of her daughter.

"She had it all lined out and I said 'okay whatever you need me to do I'm willing to do that for you' and I said 'you're going to have to get it started but I will support you 100%.'"

And Ayvah says she doesn't wanna stop here.

"It makes me feel really happy," Ayvah said.

She wants to take 'Sleeves of Encouragement' worldwide.

"Seeing all the smiles on peoples faces when they get them makes me feel really really good," Doyle said.
