BEAUMONT, Texas — Children in hospitals across Southeast Texas woke up to a special gift Monday morning.
The Cowboy Harley-Davidson Hog Chapter of Beaumont participated in their third annual Teddy Bear Run.
The chapter spent the morning delivering 1,000 teddy bears to muscular dystrophy patients.
Motorcyclists rode to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont and then to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Houston.
"We have a lot of children who at this time of the year are going to be in the hospitals, and their parents," Steve Morgan, director of the HOG chapter and president of Red Knights of Texas, said. "It's just something for us to give back to the community and to do something for the children."
Harley Davidson has always been a big supporter of the MDA cause, Morgan said.
PetSmart in Houston donated 600 teddy bears and the Hog chapter purchased 400.
