Lauren Hensley is assistant news director and an investigative reporter at 12NewsNow in Beaumont, Tx, specializing in investigative reporting.
Hensley, who has worked as a broadcast journalist for the past seven years, joined 12News in October 2018.
She previously was reporting at the NBC/CBS affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA.
You may recognize Scranton as the setting of "The Office."
Her most memorable stories include tracking the devistation and clean-up efforts following an EF-2 tornado as well as sharing the stories of several WWII heroes.
Hensley has also worked at WJAC in Johnston/Altoona, Pa and WVNS in Beckley, WV.
Hensley studied journalism at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where she obtained her bachelor's degree in journalism and a Masters of Science in Multimedia Technology.
She's thrilled to leave the cold and snow of Pennsylvania behind to join the 12NewsNow team in the warmer climes of Southeast Texas.
No stranger to tight-knit communities, Hensely was born and raised in Nazareth, Pa; the same hometown as race car driving legend Mario Andretti and the Martin Guitar.
In her spare time, you can find her exploring the beautiful state parks in Texas, trying new kinds of southern food, reading a novel or spending time in the sun.
