Running water to homes in Rose City might be as possible as early next week. The water plant suffered major damage after Hurricane Harvey and now eight new pumps are being installed to the plant in order to provide water back to homeowners.
Before Rose City can distribute the water from the new pumps, the city will have to make sure the distribution pipes are clean. Chemicals will be going into the pipes to disinfect any bacteria left over from the floodwaters.
Since the water plant has been non-stop operational, the state has been providing gallons of water to residents. The boil water notice will continue for the next thirty days after the installation until the water can be tested and approved by the city to drink.
