HOUSTON, Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Join us August 8th -10th in the South Main Baptist Church Activities Building, at 4100 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002 for a performance of Oklahoma! the timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein Musical.

South Main Baptist Church's summer musical series has returned to provide Houston audiences with quality family entertainment.  Classics like 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning', 'Kansas City', and 'Oklahoma!' will ring in the audience's ears.

Oklahoma!, with music by Richard Rogers, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and original dances by Agnes de Mille, originally premiered in 1943.  The musical, based on the play "Green Grow the Lilacs" by Lynn Riggs, was met with instant, and near universal, critical and commercial success. 

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. on August 8th and 9th, and 2 p.m. on August 10th.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show.  Tickets to the performance are $10 for children 5th grade and younger, and $20 for adults.  Tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the performance. Seats are limited so it is suggested to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance.

South Main Baptist Church is located at 4100 Main Street, in Midtown Houston, between the Ensemble/HCC and Wheeler MetroRail stops.
