Orange apartment fire leaves 15 without homes

A fire erupted early Sunday morning at the Oakwood Village Apartments in the 1500 block of N. 37th Street in Orange.

The call came in around 2:45 a.m.

Firefighters on the scene told 12News that one woman awoke to the smell of smoke and fell due to low visibility. She was treated on the scene. No other injuries have been reported.

In all, 15 people have been affected after eight apartment units received damage.

Management is currently transferring all residents to other vacant apartments.

The American Red Cross is assisting.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
