Port Neches man already serving time for child porn production is sentenced to 25 years for continuous sexual abuse of a child

A man who was sentenced last week to federal prison for producing child pornography pleaded guilty Monday in Jefferson County to continuous sexual abuse of a child.

A statement from the office of Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw says that Christopher Dale Harrison, 33, of Port Neches, entered a plea Monday and was immediately sentenced to 25 years in the state penitentiary in connection with a 2013 charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child who was 14 at the time of the crime.

Harrison was sentenced last week to charges of production of child pornography and was sentenced to 25-years.  The sentences will be served concurrently.

A combined state/federal online “sting” operation revealed that Harrison had, and was offering distribution online, images of child pornography.

A search warrant was issued and the house where Harrison and his family were living was searched on April 18, 2013. Images of child pornography were found on both a computer and a smart phone.

During several interviews conducted by state and federal investigators, Harrison revealed that some he had produced some of the images himself.

Both the images and his admissions led to the indictment alleging that he had committed aggravated sexual assault of a child against the victim two or more times during a period of at least thirty (30) days.

The twenty five (25) years must be served on a day-for-day basis, with Harrison only getting credit for the time he spent in federal and state custody awaiting disposition. He will serve his state time concurrently with the federal sentence (also twenty five years) assessed for the child pornography charges.

“This child should be 34 years old and well able to protect herself before this monster gets out, and that’s how it should be” said Assistant Criminal District Attorney Ramon Rodriguez. “This is an excellent example of how joint prosecutions can and do work”.
