Suspect arrested in the Wells Fargo Bank Robbery

A spokesperson for the Beaumont Police Department said Thursday that a man is in custody for the June 3 robbery of  the Wells Fargo Bank located at 8255 Gladys Ave in Beaumont.

According to the spokesperson, a man handed a teller a note demanding money.  He indicated that he had a weapon.

The teller complied with the demands.

After robbing the bank, the robber left on foot, heading south on Major Drive.

A K-9 found the robber’s long-sleeved white shirt and ball cap along the canal south of the Bank on Major Drive near the Soccer Fields.

Beaumont Police detectives and Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were able to identify the robber as Christopher M. Thomas, 23, of Houston. Beaumont P.D. Detectives and FBI Agents were able to obtain a Federal Arrest Warrant for Thomas.

Thomas turned himself into the FBI on Wednesday evening.

Thomas is currently being held on the Federal Warrant in a Beaumont Facility and a bond has not yet been set.
