Texas Rangers investigating suicide in Hardin County jail

Investigators with the Texas Rangers are investigating how a Hardin County inmate killed herself.

Sheriff Ed Cain told 12News Deanough Looper, 40, was found dead in her cell Thursday.  Cain said it appears that she hung herself with a bed sheet.

Looper was incarcerated on charges related to copper theft and had been in the jail for about two weeks.

It is standard practice for the Texas Rangers to be investigate the death of an inmate.
