SYDNEY, June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NetComm Wireless Limited (ASX: NTC), a leading developer of wireless Machine-to-Machine (M2M) products, today opened its new branch office in Tokyo, Japan, following the recently announced M2M distribution agreement with Kanematsu Communications Limited.

Certified for deployment in Japan, NetComm Wireless' M2M devices facilitate immediate deployment by major telecommunications carriers, system integrators, vertical industry sectors and Japanese multinational companies seeking to expand their M2M operations globally.

Mr Kei Hara has been appointed to lead NetComm Wireless' expansion into the Japanese market and is responsible for supporting new business opportunities in line with the company's M2M strategy. NetComm Wireless' operations will work with leading carriers and export companies in partnership with Kanematsu Communications to meet the surging demand for M2M solutions in areas such as utilities, point of sale, agriculture, logistics, healthcare and other selected verticals.

The arrangement will maximise the effectiveness of M2M developments and create new areas of growth in Japan's market through the delivery of open-platform wireless M2M technologies that seamlessly integrate with mission-critical applications and systems.

CEO and Managing Director of NetComm Wireless, David Stewart, said the move to establish a presence in Japan presents our company with an exciting new opportunity for development and growth.

"M2M is set to surge in Japan and we are pleased to launch NetComm Wireless' M2M business in Tokyo as Japanese companies prepare for mass adoption. We look forward to driving collaborative growth by making economical, scalable and adaptable M2M technologies easily accessible to Japanese carriers, industry verticals and companies wanting to expand their global footprint," said Mr Stewart.

The new Tokyo branch will be NetComm Wireless' first sales office in Asia, the largest regional M2M market accounting for 42% of global M2M connections, according to GSMA. NetComm Wireless also delivers wireless M2M technologies to global markets out of offices in North America, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
