School districts looking to hire laid-off BISD teachers through classified ads

As we all know by now, the Beaumont Independent School District is planning to layoff teachers.  But as we've reported, there are other school districts wanting to hire.

Not all those school districts are close to home.

In recent weeks, ads from school districts in other parts of Texas have been appearing in the Beaumont Enterprise classifieds section.

One is from the Ingram Independent School District, which is located in the hill country. Ingram is looking for math, social studies and English as a second language teachers.

The other ad is from Splendora ISD, which is north of Houston. That district is seeking bilingual and special education teachers.  Splendora is offering a starting salary of $46,000, and that's for a teacher with no experience.
