Driver crashes into new Lumberton hospital

A driver is recovering after crashing into the new Altus hospital in Lumberton.

The accident happened around 9a.m. Saturday at the facility located at 137 North LHS Drive. Altus Business Development Associate, Matthew Chavez, tells 12News the driver became ill and crashed into the hospital's emergency room reception area. Chavez says two employees were inside the reception area at the time of the crash, but they were not injured. The unidentified driver was injured. Chavez says the driver was treated at Altus.  No further details about the driver are being released by the hospital.

Chavez says a temporary wall  was has been put up in the reception area as workers make repairs. He says patient services at Altus are not being interrupted due to the crash.
