Asst. Principal assaulted by Jr. High student

A Little Cypress Junior High student may be facing assault charges after she reportedly attacked the assistant principal.

According to a report by Orange Police, the student punched the assistant principal and hit her in the neck with a stick.

Witnesses said the student was being sent to the principal's office for being disrespectful and that she became irate when she was ordered to spend the day in SAC.

According to the report, the female student was shouting threats about wishing she had a knife to kill everyone. It also states, the student dropped her tray and began flipping over tables and trash cans in the cafeteria, that’s when the assistant principal told the office to call police.

Witnesses said the juvenile then took off running outside the school and five staff members chased after her, resulting in the student attacking the assistant principal.

The juvenile was then taken into police custody but the address and contact info on file at the school for the student was wrong. Police were able to eventually track down the student's grandmother who told police the girl's mother was in Houston.

Mitzi Conn, the LCJH principal who witnessed the attack told 12News, "It is our goal to not only address the acting out but to teach appropriate behaviors so that the student learns how to better deal with the issue in the future. After the incident has been investigated fully, we will meet as a committee, including the parent or guardian, to discuss a disciplinary plan.
