Beaumont Police investigating report of Bank Robbery

BEAUMONT - Beaumont police are looking for a man who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank located at 8255 Gladys Ave in the west end.

Officer Carol Riley said the robbery happened around 1 p.m.  She said the robber is a light-skin black male who is tall and thin.  He was dressed in a white long sleeve button-down shirt wearing a baseball cap with a flag on the front.  He was also wearing jeans, black shoes and sun shades.  She said he was last seen running south on Major Drive.

Officers searching the area found the suspect's shirt and hat in a ditch on Major Drive near the bank.

Officer Riley said the suspect wrote a note demanding money.  She said he may be armed and dangerous.

No injuries have been reported.  Officers have called for a K-9 to help search the area near the bank.

12News has a crew at the bank and will have more information as it becomes available..
