Brian Babin defeats Ben Streusand in GOP Primary runoff election

Brian Babin is the Republican voter's choice following Tuesday's Primary runoff election. Babin defeated Ben Streusand of Houston for the GOP nomination for Congressional District 36.

Babin hopes to to replace U.S Rep. Steve Stockman who chose not to run for another term in the house. Stockman made an unsuccessful bid for Senate against incumbent John Cornyn.

Babin, a former mayor of Woodville, will face Democrat Michael Cole in the General Election for Stockman's seat.  This will be Babin's second time to run in the General Election to become a U.S. Rep.  In 1996 he made an unsuccessful run against Democrat Jim Turner.
