Terence Holmes wins Democratic nomination for Jeff. Co. Court at Law #3

Municipal Court Judge Terrence Holmes took 61 percent of votes to win the Democratic nomination in the race for the Jefferson County Court at Law #3 Tuesday night. His runoff opponent, Beaumont City Councilman Audwin Samuel, ended the night with 38 percent.

Holmes will face off against Republican Clint Woods in the November election. Woods did not have an opponent in the May primary. The winner will replace longtime County Court at Law #3 Judge John Paul Davis who was planning to retire but passed away in February.
