District Attorney's office lauds BISD officer who testified against

The Jefferson County District Attorney had high praise for a Beaumont Independent School District police officer who testified in the trial of BISD spokesperson Jessie Haynes.

Haynes was convicted after just over a half-hour of deliberations on a charge of obstructing a passageway.  She was sentenced to two-years probation, a 90-day suspended jail sentence, a $2,000 fine and 100 hours of community service.  She must also attend anger management classes.

The DA issued the following statement following Haynes' conviction:
