Cash reward offered to help solve home invasion in which elderly woman was assaulted


A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information that may help find three men involved in a home invasion Friday in the 1100 block of Kotz Road in Nome, to call the Sheriff’s Office.

The Jefferson County Dispatch Center received a call at 12:53 p.m. from a person reporting a home invasion/aggravated robbery that had just happened. An elderly woman said she awoke to find three men inside her home. The men assaulted her while they took a large sum of cash and a flat screen TV.

The spokesperson said the robbery happened is estimated to have happed at 11:30 p.m.

The victim was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth where she was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputy Rod Carroll said if anyone saw anything suspicious Friday night in the 1100 block of Kotz Road, they may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers. Anyone wanting to give an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers may call 409-833-8477 (TIPS.)
