No injuries following blaze at home of Seattle Seahawks' Earl Thomas

Little Cypress firefighters and other area crews spent an hour Sunday morning battling a blaze at the detached garage and pool house of a home of Seattle Seahawks safety, Earl Thomas III.

The house is located in the 1600 block of Bear Path in Little Cypress, near FM 1130.

Captain Mike Broaker with Orange County ESD #3 said that around 1:30 a.m., a fire broke out in the pool house and garage.  Flames were shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived. They were able to keep the flames from spreading to the home.

Captain Broaker said Thomas' parents were home at the time and were able to escape uninjured. The cause remains under investigation.

Authorities say Thomas was in Houston at the time of the fire.

Thomas is a graduate of West Orange-Stark High School and won his first Super Bowl with the Seahawks for Super Bowl XLVIII.
