Beaumont police investigate west-end drowning

A spokesperson for the Beaumont Police Department told 12News that officers are investigating a drowning in a swimming pool at a home located in the city's west end.

The victim is only identified as a 38-year-old male.

The drowning was reported shortly after noon.  Beaumont police spokesperson Officer Doug Kibodeaux said officers received a report of a possible drowning at a home located in the 2100 block of Wooten Road. When they arrived they found the victim face down in the pool.  Police noted that the water in the pool was very dirty.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

12News has a crew in West Beaumont and will have more information shortly.
