Interstate 10 in Beaumont reopens after utility poll falls near Washington Boulevard

All lanes of Interstate 10 and the feeder roads in Beaumont have reopened after being closed at Washington Boulevard due to a fallen utility poll.  The lanes were closed around 3:40 p.m. Friday and re-opened around 4:10 p.m.

Beaumont police spokesperson Officer Cody Guedry told 12News that a vehicle struck a utility pole knocking the utility pole down and wires fell across the westbound lanes of the interstate.

As of 4:30 p.m. no injuries have been reported.

The fallen power lines have caused power outages at nearby businesses.
