Woman dragged 15-feet by purse snatcher

ORANGE - Officers with the Orange Police Department around noon were involved in a chase.

A witness told 12News that one person was taken into custody after the chase and one person was taken to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Orange Police Department said the victim was talking to a woman who was in a car.  When she got close to the vehicle, the woman in the car grabbed the victim's purse and hit the gas.

The victim was dragged approximately 15 feet before she let go of the purse.

A police officer witnessed the incident.

The woman in the car led police on a chase that ended near the Oaks apartments in the 500 block of first street.

The victim was taken to Christus Hospital St. Mary in Port Arthur with head injuries.

The suspect, identified as Eyeisha Brown, 28, was arrested.
