Authorities release name of man killed in Orange County auto-pedestrian accident

ORANGE COUNTY - A spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety has released the identify of a man who was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident Thursday morning.

The victim is identified as Jefferson Glenn Kimbro, 36, of Bridge City.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on State Highway 62 near FM 105 in Orange County.

The DPS spokesperson said a 2000 Ford truck was traveling northbound in the inside lane of Highway 62. Kimbro entered the highway from the east and was struck by the Ford truck.  Kimbro was knocked into the southbound lane of Highway 62 and was then struck by a 2012 Toyota passenger vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Judge David Peck.

The driver of the Ford is identified as Bryan Hardy, 43, of Orange, and the driver of the Toyota is Glenda Champion, 53, of Buna.  They were not injured in the accident.

The DPS spokesperson said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
