Port Arthur man to be sentenced in 2013 crime spree

A Port Arthur man is awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of robbery.

According to a news release issued by the office of Jefferson County  District Attorney Cory Crenshaw, Domminique Adams, 29, of Port Arthur, entered guilty pleas Tuesday.  The charges are related to a July 2, 2013 attack on a Port Arthur couple.
According to the DA, Adams and two armed and masked co-defendants  approached the couple as they were in the driveway of their home.  The men then robbed both of them and took the female victim into the house and sexually assaulting her. She was then forced to go with Adams to try and get money from an ATM while the male victim was held hostage by the co-defendants. She escaped at a convenience store and police were notified. Adams was seen on video from the store, and was later found at his home still wearing the same clothing as in the video. He was in possession of the female victim's keys, and told police where her vehicle was located.

Adams faces a possible punishment of up to ninety nine (99) years or life in the state penitentiary system on each charge. Sentencing will be carried out May 19, 2014, by Criminal District Court Judge John Stevens.
