The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Orange County.

According to a DPS spokesperson, the accident happened around 2 p.m. Sunday on FM 1442 north of S. Terry Road.

The DPS spokesperson identified the person who was killed as Ramona Tolman, 44, of Orange.  Tolman's 14-year-old daughter was seriously injured in the accident.

Emergency workers on the scene told 12News that the mother and daughter were on a three-wheeled motorcycle when they ran off the road and hit a fence and tree. Tolman was pronounced dead on the scene. Her daughter was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Texas Medical Branch hospital in Galveston with serious injuries.

An emergency worker on the scene told 12News that Tolman was following the 14-year-old's father who was also riding a motorcycle.
