Pinehurst man gets life sentence for sexual assault of a child

Posted: Updated:

An Orange County jury has sentenced Curtis Nathaniel Bullman, of Pinehurst, to life in prison without parole for continuous aggravated sexual assault of a child.  The sentence was handed down Thursday.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office first received a complaint early last summer that Bullman had allegedly been sexually assaulting the 15-year-old victim since she was 8.

Orange County District Attorney, John Kimbrough said Bullman tested positive for HIV. Kimbrough said the victim has not tested positive but testing must be continued for a few years. Kimbrough said continuous sexual assault means the assault was repeated for a minimum of 30 days.  According to state law a person convicted of that offense is not eligible for parole.

Bullman was arrested last year after moving to Spartanburg, South Carolina.
